We are so lucky to have a great toboggan hill so close to our house – Adams Park off of Lawson Rd. has a giant toboggan hill that is perfect for some winter fun. The hill is tree free and has been sculpted with an uphill run-off so that all tobogganers come to a safe stop long before they reach any of the trees on the far side of the open space. The hill is even flood-lit for night fun!
On Sunday afternoon I took the kids over to the park with my nieces and my Brother-in-laws. The weather was on the chilly side at a finger numbing -12c but the sun was shining and the repeated climbs back up the hill were enough to ward off frostbite. We arrived about 4pm with a variety of different toboggans, ranging from a traditional, wooden, 3 man sled, to a an inflatable inner-tube and others in between. When the sun finally set we took it as our cue to head for the warmth of home.
We’ll be doing it again real soon so lets hope for lots more snow.

Not that I really plan on posting every single day but since I’m in here working on some of the site setup and customization, I might as well make a post.
I think I’ve sorted out most of the technical challenges with the new site and it really is time to start focusing on the content.
I’m still in a bit of a ‘light-painting’ mood and I’m posting another abstract. This picture was taken on the platform of the local trainstation.

Looks like you’ve just stumbled upon the new home of AlanHyland.ca.
It’s definitely very fresh in here – still got that ‘New Car’ smell to it. I’ll be working to get everything up and running over the next few days and should be in a groove with lots of interesting posts in no time. Most, if not all of the posts will likely be photography related and maybe not so much on the technical side but heavy on the visual side.
Today’s photo is an abstract of streetcar and pedestrians during afternoon rush-hour in Toronto. Don’t stare too long… you’ll definitely go cross-eyed.
Thanx for the visit.
