Windows 7 – update

3 days in and still haven’t suffered a crash nor the ‘Blue Screen of Death’.  This may be a bit premature, but looks like Windows 7 has saved my sanity…

Windows 7

Having finally grown tired of the relentless occurrences of the ‘Blue Screen of Death’ that is Windows Vista, I have just completed my upgrade to Windows 7. It was at the point where the laptop was shutting down 3-4 times a week (or more because it would just randomly crash and reboot even when not in use).

My first impressions are how similar it is to Vista in layout and feel. There are some subtle differences with the task bar and… well honestly, that’s it so far. Everything from the Login screen to the desktop and Startmenu appear to be nearly identical. I even had to check with the Control Panel to verify that I was actually using Windows 7. For some reason I was expecting something with a totally different look and feel. The next big test is whether I still suffer from the random crashes and shutdowns.

Day 2 – mu wah ha ha

Not that I really plan on posting every single day but since I’m in here working on some of the site setup and customization, I might as well make a post.

I think I’ve sorted out most of the technical challenges with the new site and it really is time to start focusing on the content.

I’m still in a bit of a ‘light-painting’ mood and I’m posting another abstract.  This picture was taken on the platform of the local trainstation.

It’s definitely very fresh in here – still got that ‘New Car’ smell to it.  I’ll be working to get everything up and running over the next few days and should be in a groove with lots of interesting posts in no time.  Most, if not all of the posts will likely be photography related and maybe not so much on the technical side but heavy on the visual side.

Today’s photo is an abstract of streetcar and pedestrians during afternoon rush-hour in Toronto.  Don’t stare too long… you’ll definitely go cross-eyed.

Thanx for the visit.
